Introducing the Spring 2025 Student Ambassador Team

Who We Are
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology’s Student Ambassador program is a dedicated team of undergraduate students committed to enhancing student engagement and fostering a sense of community across NC State’s campus.
Ambassadors serve as student leaders who:
- Organize student activities
- Assist with new student orientation
- Manage department communications (e.g. our monthly newsletter)
- Promote student involvement
- Provide mentorship through the Student Connections program, pairing each enrolled student with a Student Ambassador from enrollment to graduation to ensure a supportive and positive academic journey
The Student Ambassador program was created in February of 2020 by Stephanie Jares, Director of Undergraduate Advising for the Department. Under Mrs. Jares’ leadership, the Student Ambassador Team has made a strong impact, earning a nomination for the NC State Chancellor’s Creating Community Award in Spring 2022. This recognition highlights their dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive academic community..
